Places to Visit in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a great place to visit when on your way to China or South East Asia. It is not a destination that most choose for a long term vacation The hustle and bustle of Hong Kong drives most vacationers over the edge after a few days, as the city never sleeps and the noise never stops. Three to five days in Hong Kong will allow you to experience the best of the city.
In addition to the tourist attractions we have noted, Choose the restaurant wisely as eating in Hong Kong is almost as much of an experience as seeing the city. Hong Kong is also known for shopping. There are lots of shops and malls around the city.
Here are the list of places that you should not miss when you are traveling with kids like us.
1. Hong Kong Disneyland – The first ever Disneyland in Asia offers total fun and excitement for the whole family. The park is divided into four major attractions: Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Main Street, USA.


 
2. Ocean Park – This is one Hong Kong attractions where you and your kids will have a great fun. The park contains a Lowlands Gardens where pandas live, goldfish pagoda and butterfly house are located, Marine Land where atoll reef and shark aquariums are found, and Headlands amusement park where you can go and take a ride with cable cars and roller coasters.



3. Hong Kong Space Museum – See what’s in store for you in the future at Hong Kong Space Museum. The complex offers hundreds of displays ranging from telecommunications, robotics, energy, computers, and physics with hands on experience that will keep you interested.



  
4. Hong Kong Science Museum - The Science Museum showcases over 500 interesting exhibits, 70 percent of which are hands-on and offer an insight into a wide range of science-related subjects. The exhibition covers many areas of science and technology, including robotics, transportation, virtual reality and more.

  
5. The Peak - Victoria Peak is Hong Kong's premier visitor attraction, providing magnificent harbor and city views. Visiting late afternoon enables you to experience the dazzling panorama of Hong Kong Island, the harbor, Kowloon and the hills beyond. The Peak is served by a modern funicular railway called the "Peak Tram". The sturdy carriages seem to assume near-perpendicular angles as they giddily whisk passengers up to the top. Madame Tussaud is also another attraction.  There you can find 100 lifelike wax figures of popular personalities.




6. Noah’s Ark - The parks centrepiece is the world's only full size replica of Noah's Ark located on the Ma Wan waterfront and under the Tsing Ma Bridge it offers spectacular views of the bridge and locale. Alighting from the ark are a series of life sized 67 pairs of sculptures of exotic animals, birds and creatures. The ark is in fact a multi-storey building and visitors may book to stay in either a hotel or a youth hostel located on the top floor.
Within the park is a nature garden alongside the existing natural landscape, existing native trees have been preserved along the terraced paths. The park features amusements suitable for young children together with a menagerie of small animals (mostly reptiles) in small display cages.





 

           
7. Lantau Island - Hong Kong’s Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car and Ngong Ping Village in Lantau Island, one of the newest and most popular attractions in Hong Kong. The Ngong Ping 360 is a 5.7km cable car ride from Tung Chung, crossing Tung Chung Bay to Tung Chung Village in North Lantau. The ride offers panoramic views of the verdant, mountainous terrain of Lantau Island, Tian Tan Buddha Statue, Hong Kong International Airport, and the 360-degree view of the Ngong Ping Plateau.
